Application Specialist – AppBank Production Management

We are seeking an Application Specialist to support production management for applications used by the Legal and Conflicts Resolution Group (CRG) teams.

As part of a global, 24x7 production support organization, you will help ensure application stability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across a complex technology environment. The role combines incident management, troubleshooting, automation, monitoring, change governance, and collaboration with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve application, batch, interface, and data issues.
• Investigate incidents using logs, SQL, telemetry, and code-level debugging.
• Manage incidents from identification through resolution, maintaining clear stakeholder communication.
• Perform root-cause analysis and recommend sustainable solutions.
• Improve application reliability, resilience, recoverability, and operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to automate alerts, monitoring, checks, and support processes.
• Participate in change and release management, including risk assessment and post-implementation validation.
• Create and maintain runbooks, support documentation, dashboards, and knowledge assets.
• Support hybrid-cloud and AWS-based services, including monitoring, access controls, and operational readiness.
• Use approved AI-assisted tools responsibly for troubleshooting, scripting, documentation, and incident analysis.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience in application support, software development, SRE, or a similar enterprise technology environment.
• Strong Unix/Linux troubleshooting skills.
• Practical knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with Java or another structured/object-oriented programming language.
• Experience with shell scripting, Python, JavaScript, Perl, or a similar scripting language.
• Understanding of ETL, batch processing, scheduling, dependencies, and capacity management.
• Knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, Lambda, and RDS.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Fluent English is required.

Nice-to-have qualifications

• Experience in the financial services industry.
• Experience supporting Legal, Compliance, Risk, or Conflicts-related processes.
• Exposure to Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, or other distributed-processing platforms.
• Knowledge of ITIL, SRE, production controls, and service governance.
• Experience with AI-assisted operations, anomaly detection, and automation.
